What Al Mozan supplies
Documentation in progress
Our washed salt reaches food-grade sodium chloride content, but a food claim needs the heavy-metal panel, microbiology and a documented food-safety system at the works. That panel is commissioned with an ISO 17025 laboratory. Until it is issued, we supply the same washed salt to food-salt refiners and packers, who refine, test and certify it, and we register food manufacturers' specifications so we can quote as soon as the reports exist.

Food processing: questions buyers ask
Is your salt food grade?
Not as a certified claim yet. Sodium chloride content meets the Codex minimum; the heavy-metal and microbiology panel and the food-safety documentation are in progress, and we will not describe the salt as food grade until they are issued.
Can food-salt refiners buy now?
Yes. Refiners and packers buy the washed salt as raw material, refine it in their own plants and certify the finished product.
Do you supply iodised salt?
No. Iodisation is done by the packer to each market's rule; we supply non-iodised salt.
