Who buys this grade

Sea-salt refiners and packers, chemical distributors, tanneries (hide curing), textile dye-houses, oilfield-service companies preparing brines, water-treatment suppliers, general industrial users.

Specification

  • NaCl 98.7–99.4 % as received across laboratory reports from 2016 and 2026.
  • Water-insoluble matter about 0.10 % in the washed 2016 sample; 2026 samples pending insolubles testing.
  • Calcium 0.07–0.22 %, magnesium 0.01–0.13 %, sulphate 0.30–0.67 %, lot-dependent.
  • Not offered as chlor-alkali membrane feed: solid-salt electrolysis plants usually require ≥99.5 % NaCl with sulphate well below 0.3 %. Plants with strong brine purification can evaluate lots individually.
Sulphate varies between harvest lots (0.30–0.67 % in our reports). Buyers whose process is sensitive to sulphate or calcium should specify a limit and we will select and test lots against it before loading.

Typical analysis and contract targets

Typical values from laboratory reports on washed salt (2016, 2026); targets are agreed per lot and confirmed by load-port inspection.

Packaging and minimum order

Bulk vessel is standard for refiners. Big bags (1,000 kg) and 25/50 kg bags in containers for processors and distributors.

Minimum order: 5,000 t bulk for refiner feedstock; 500 t bagged.

Documents with every shipment

Certificate of analysis, load-port inspection certificate, certificate of origin (Libyan chamber of commerce), packing list, bill of lading; safety data sheet for sodium chloride on request.

Questions buyers ask about industrial salt

Is this salt suitable as feedstock for a washing and drying plant?

That is its primary use. Belgian, British and Nigerian refiners import raw solar salt by sea and process it into food, softener and de-icing grades. Our lot analyses and a pre-shipment sample let a refiner check yield before committing.

Can you meet chlor-alkali specifications?

Not at the standard membrane-cell specification. We say so up front rather than qualify later. Buyers with brine purification can test our lots; we will not describe the salt as chemical-grade until an accredited laboratory says it is.

Do you supply oilfield salt in Libya and the Gulf?

Yes, for brine make-up and completion fluids, bagged or in big bags, with the specification agreed with the drilling-fluids provider.
